Next Generation Internet Backbone Router

چکیده

Next generation Internet backbone node technologies are proposed that offer sophisticated QoS support including real time voice, video streaming, and VPN. The backbone network consists of small size IP + ATM nodes (Type-S) and backbone core nodes (Type-X). Type-S nodes support both ATM bearer and IP QoS services. In addition, the traffic control set between input line card buffer and output line card buffer is based on the ABR VS/VD mechanism. The backbone core nodes utilize IP-based high performance routers. They host the sophisticated IP QoS control mechanism called the Advanced DiffServ technique. This newly proposed technique offers real time voice and connection-based buffering capability. These two types of nodes will allow the next generation highquality IP network to be realized.

Secure and Privacy-Preserving Authentication Protocols for Wireless Mesh Networks

Wireless mesh networks (WMNs) have emerged as a promising concept to meet the challenges in next-generation wireless networks such as providing flexible, adaptive, and reconfigurable architecture while offering cost-effective solutions to service providers (Akyildiz et al., 2005). WMNs are multi-hop networks consisting of mesh routers (MRs), which form wireless mesh backbones and mesh clients (...

An Interconnect Architecture for Networking Systems on Chips

To meet the demands of ever-increasing Internet traffic, the next generation of Internet backbone routers must deliver ultrahigh performance over an optical infrastructure. At the current Internet traffic growth rate, network service providers will likely deploy OC-768 routers in the foreseeable future. At the same time, as Internet and application service providers attempt to provide more dive...
